Well, I powered through six days of decluttering. On day 5 I was a bit sore, so I thought, "Let's take a hot bath!" But the bath was too hot and I sat in it too long, and it triggered a migraine. Day 6 was unpleasant, though I still got a lot done.
Not only is the basement much improved, but we also managed to get my sewing machine fixed. Mother in law dropped it off for me, and husband picked it up. $90 later, I have a repaired, cleaned, and tuned machine.
Mother in law will be back in a week. There will be more decluttering, and hopefully more bringing things to the thrift shop.
Today we got a dumpster delivered, and tomorrow we start pitching in earnest. We begin with the garage, and when that's tolerable, we'll move on to ripping up the carpet in the basement. And that is what I'm really looking forward to.
Sounds like you're making marvelous progress! Have fun with that dumpster.
ReplyDeleteDealing with the garage was harder than the basement. I was grumpy af all day. This is a tough process.
